Tips to Successfully Moving with Your Pets
1. Remember it's stressful for your pets as well as for you! They notice small changes like putting stuff in boxes. During this time let them smell the boxes and suitcases so they understand change is happening.
2. Your plan should be to have your pets be either the first element removed from your house or the last. If you have a nervous or older pet, it would be smart to have them stay with other family members while you pack up at your old house and until you've unpacked in the new house. Always use a pet carrier to transport your pet for their safety.
3. Don't get a new pet before the big move! New pets need extra attention and a stress-free environment to be correctly introduced into a household.
4. Make sure you get your pet's records from your current vet. And make sure their pet tags are attached and up-to-date before moving day.
5. Contact your vet and get their advice about anything that will help your pet make a smooth and stress-free move.
