College Place Info

As temperatures edge upwards here in the Walla Walla valley, it's a great time to visit us. In addition to our many wineries, you'll want to visit the weekend Farmer's Market, the art galleries as well as the fine restaurants, cafes and tasting bars for some perfect people watching. Just find a shady spot and let life slow down for a while!  There's the "Anything Goes" musical at the amphitheater in July, "Shakespeare Uncorked" in August plus the Peach Basket Classic the first weekend in August!

Can you believe that it's the middle of the summer already?! The real estate market keeps moving on and College Place real estate statistics now show  sold 38 residences from January 1 through July 1.  There are currently 97 homes available in College Place, a number that is also up. The average sales price so far this year in College Place is $205,400, compared to $216,134 for the same period in 2007. We still have low interest rates and we have a good selection so this is a great time to buy a home!

In College Place WA in 2007, there were a total of 113 homes sold at an average price of $210,238, as compared to 2006 sales of 164 homes with an average sales price of $189,950. (2006 was a year with a lot of new construction!) You can see the same information for Walla Walla real estate clicking on the link.      The delightful small town of College Place (approximately 9000 people) is located on the Walla Walla River near the Oregon border. Though folks with lengthy commutes elsewhere will be jealous, College Place is within 5 minutes of downtown Walla Walla, the country seat and its thriving community of about 30,000 people. No commuting problems here! I (Pat) should know as I live in College Place and work in Walla Walla. There's some new commercial development as well as residential homes in process. Slow and steady is GOOD!

Primarily residential, College Place is home to Walla Walla University and is in an area known for its award-winning wineries. There's lots of outdoor recreation in our Blue Mountains and with the Columbia and Snake Rivers close by!
